Is OpenAI running out of training data?

We are currently living in a Data Revolution where data is becoming the new gold. Billions of dollars are being invested in data and the technology used to harness its power, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise to see companies such as OpenAI put large efforts into acquiring more of it to continue training its huge AI models.

The new OpenAI Data Partnership announced on November 9, 2023 aims at partnering up with organizations to help them produce new datasets that can train AI models, such as training the large language models (LLMs) that enable products such as ChatGPT to exist and continue to evolve.

The way they put it is as such…

Data Partnerships are intended to enable more organizations to help steer the future of AI and benefit from models that are more useful to them, by including content they care about.

…which in other words means this benefits YOU and us.

What does this mean for privacy?

This is of course a valid question to ask considering that lots of companies out there collect and store sensitive data on their users, which is not necessarily publicly…
